NetOFFICES
Office at Industry City
Designed with Modellus Novus
I worked on the renovation of the executive offices for the Brooklyn Nets. The space was designed in collaboration with the designers ‘FOOD’. Modellus Novus was the architect of record. I worked on the construction development and construction administration phases of the design. The offices located in Industry City start with a succession of an indoor garden area and move into the executive offices where glass partitions allow the view into Manhattan with no obstructions. There were a number of changes requested by the client during construction that MN worked on. The executive offices were requested to have a bathroom with a shower so that the CEO could easily come from the airport from Hong Kong where BSE have offices and continue with the day. The feature that was also quite special was the indoor garden. It was made of travertine and had to be coordinated with Landscape designers and lighting designers to ensure that the trees requested could comfortably grow. The ceiling in this area consists of special grow lights, light studies were conducted to make sure that this was a viable route. The travertine banquettes were also custom fabricated to ensure that they fit seamlessly with the floor and have feature such as charging stations integrated in them.
